svRoller: Roll some dice
svRoller is a die roller widget. Now you can quickly add dice rolling to your website.
Here it is:
|
How to Use It
Among gamers, dice are described in "d" format. Example: "2d6" means to roll two six-sided dice.
Step-by-step, here's how to use svRoller:
Next to "type of dice", enter the number of dice to roll, how many sides they have,
and any number you want added to the total.
The "Presets" buttons gives you a quick way to enter the most common game dice.
You can choose to enter a "Multiplier", which is a number to be multiply every roll by.
You can choose to enter a "Success" number. If any of the rolls is greater than this number,
it will be marked as a "success", and the successes will be counted up for you.
Finally, enter the number of times you want to roll the dice, and click the "Roll Em" button
to see your results.

Add svRoller to your website!
You must be logged in to add a widget to your account.
I am working on a plan to allow users to add the svUnits widget to their own websites.
I will be asking for a $2 donation, but there are many benefits over competing "free" tools:
- No spying! I'm not saying everyone spies, but as a webmaster I have a hard time
figuring out who to trust when it comes to add-ons. You never know what weird things they
might be doing in the background. I'm not interested in gathering user data.
I'm not in that market. I will count hits, so you know if people are using the tool,
and that's all.
- Configurability. With a user account on my website, I will provide tools to let
you choose the widgets you want and configure them to fit your site better.
- Pure javascript. The whole widget is a single Javascript file, configured by
PHP on demand. Very easy to install. Just cut & paste a little piece of code.

More Notes
A caveat for physics pros: mass and weight are combined here, to make it easier on casual
users. Just assume "weight" means "mass equivalent at one gravity."
